A Closer Walk
with God

  • There is a time in the sincere believer's life that we must seek change in our spirit.  We will be prompted by the LORD or our conscious to seek a deeper and closer walk with God.  Each step, or each level higher that we obtain is always preceded by repentance.  There is always something for our human nature to repent of.   Even the prophets and bible characters of old had to go through purification in order to be acceptable in the sight of the LORD.  Righteousness is a plan that all must follow the meet his approval. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
  • And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
  • Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:6-8

When Isaiah was called by the LORD to be a prophet first, he had to have his sins purged.  He realized that he was a man of unclean lips among a people of unclean lips.  Isaiah had to admit to his own sins before they were acquitted.   The coal was placed upon his tongue, we notice.

  • Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Isaiah 6:5

Notice that Isaiah said, I am a man on unclean lips, among a people of unclean lips. The use of the lips, or the mouth is one of the most popular ways of mistake or sin.   In
