God's Prophetess Deborah ; judge of Israel
Deborah was a woman mightily anointed God called prophet of Israel in the time of the judges. She was the sought after power of that time, who exemplified the power and approval of God in her life.
Judges 4:3: And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4: And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5: And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
Deborah determined the between the personal problems of the people of Israel. She was the only judge named for the people at this time suggesting that she was the judge for all of the people. She was not a judge as some would say a woman's ministry is; for women only, but she judged all of the people, male and female.
. He only did not want to go as a leader, alone. The Children of Israel came to her for judgment. She did not seek them out, for the ministry of the judgeship of the people of Israel was given to her by God.
