Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
In Miriam's prophecies, she is credited with being a song and worship leader. She took the timbrel, and all of the women went out after her and sang and danced before the Lord. This was the song of victory rejoiced after the Lord brought his people across the Red sea.
Exodus 15:20: And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21: And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
This short psalm is remembered by God's people unto this day. Therefore, even though a gift to God seems small, It is still multiplied in the hands of Jesus, as the widow woman' s gift of two mites into the temple treasury. Jesus is watching our gifts to him, and if we give out of a faithful heart, it is regarded in His sight.
43: And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
And when there was only available two fish and five loaves of bread to feed a multitude, they were multiplied in the hands of Jesus, just as our gift s to him are. The fish and loves, which fed 5000 men with women and children. (Matt. 14:16 -21)
In order to keep Moses from being killed, it is taken that Miriam was the sister that as a girl, guarded her brother Moses. He was then an infant. She directed Pharaoh's daughter to allow the child's mother to become his nurse, after he was found in the bulrushes. The law of Pharaoh of Egypt stated that all Israelite baby boys were to be killed. She protected the deliverer of Israel with just love to rule her.
