The Bible teaches, "in the beginning; God CREATED the heavens and the earth". This word; God, is the Hebrew word, Elohiym, which is purported to be and is a plural word. However in the case of God we will find that this word does not mean many, but represents the LORD in all His splendor, and shows forth the magnificence and superiority of God, magnifying Him over any other. It represents that God cannot be explained in human terms without using something other than the way of descriptive terms of mankind.
Literal translation of Genesis 1:26, is (to say, the Supreme God) for; and God Said ( to do, to make, yield (man) ruddy (meaning red or Adam)), for let us make man (to shade, illusion, resemble: model, similitude) in our image; and so on. This is the literal meaning of the Hebrew words. This scripture does not say let us (more than one) make man in our (plural) image. It says: the Supreme God says yield Adam or red man (ruddy to) resemble or model God. Therefore in this literal translation, we find that man was created to model God and to Look like God. By not having the true understanding of the real meaning is Lost. That is that man was created to model, or imitate God. The word model meaning "intended for imitation, primarily a small pattern. This makes the next statement make more sense.
Genesis 1:27; So God created man in HIS image, in the image of God created HE, him; male and female created HE them.
Notice that in this statement, though many thought that God was plural because of the word Elohiym, He addressed His own self as His(God-Elohiym), image, created He (God-Elohiym), him (Adam), male and female (now He uses plural) created He (God-Elohiym), (singular he again) them.
After the time in which the light of the first church started by Jesus Christ Himself and the apostles began to fade, men began to change the word of God as to interpret God as a "creature", or person instead of Almighty God. In the scripture we see plainly that God is not a
person, Numbers 23:19a God is not a man. . .; He is a SPIRIT.
John 4:24 God is a spirit; and they who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.
This is the statement that He makes of Himself, through His Word. We cannot change His word. It will stand forever.
Psalms 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O Jehovah, thy word is settled in the heavens.
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God abideth for ever.
1Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Though the word of God is true, me still worship the creature, or the created, and that which they have created with their own minds, instead of God as He has revealed Himself to man.
