From thirteen to sixteen I lived with my father's side of the family in Birmingham, Alabama. My aunt was Catholic, she really wanted to help me to be a lady, so she sent me to a Catholic school. She use to read me bible stories and I was interested in God. My Dad let me come back home and he let me havehis 1979Chevette. I  had a new job and I was very happy. I was in my bedroom and I thought to myself " The Lord is blessing me and I'm not even living for him. I knew that there is a heaven and a hell. I wanted to go to heaven but I was living like I wanted to go to hell. I thought "I'm going to start living like I want to go to heaven." I was very thankful. I began to read the bible every night. Every time I opened the Bible it was a scripture about being baptized, born again, or going to hell. I read the scripture about  "the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched". I was scared that I would die before I got baptized in Jesus name. I was  invited to see the  ten virgins drama.
I wouldn't get baptized that night because I had just gotten a very expensive hair do. But the grace of God kept me to the next Sunday night, October the 31,  when I WAS BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS. I FELT SO CLEAN AND LIGHT, it felt as if a weight had been lifted off of me. I was weeping and was told that it was the Holy Ghost  I was feeling, so I  thought I had the Holy Ghost. I didn't know I had to speak in tongues. Everyone at the church was so nice they never told me I didn't have it.
The Pastor preached that you need to talk in tongues and I was so embarrassed. I was still going to hell. One Sunday morning the pastor was preaching about repentance and being sorry for your sins, I knew I would get it today, his message increased my faith. I ran to the alter and lifted my hands up and started praising the Lord. Soon after that I felt a ball of energy starting from my heart and stomach area and flowing through every part of my body. I was shouting and I was slain under the power of the Holy Ghost. I felt marvelous and I felt a part of the family of God.
